ANGRY YOUTH ATTACK EL-RUFAI’S CONVOY IN SOUTHERN KADUNA

                                     
Kaduna state Governor Nasir El-Rufai and his deputy, Barnabas Bantex were yesterday attacked by youths protesting the continuous killings allegedly perpetrated by Fulani herdsmen in Southern Kaduna.

The state executives were on their way to Jema’a local government area in Southern Kaduna, when the incident occured.
A source said the attack on the governor’s convoy was as a result of rising tension in Kafanchan after a 24-hour curfew imposed by local government authorities.
Governor El Rufai’s spokesman could not be reached on phone for comments on the reported attack on the convoy.
Speaking at the palace of the paramount Ruler of Jema’a; Emir Muhammadu Muhammadu, the State Governor said his administration was working hard to ensure the safety of lives and property in the state.
“I and the deputy governor took oath of office to protect lives and property of all citizens and we are committed to ensuring that this is achieved,”

He called on all leaders of Southern Kaduna to support efforts to at ensuring that lasting peace returned to the area.
